Is It That Hard?

I mentioned that I took this week off at the last minute to have a break while I could (since I don’t know when I’ll be able to leave the new guy on his own) but it’s like I’m still there. Calls from work, voicemails, emails, texts, msn messages. Can’t anybody show any initiative? I’ve said it before, but common sense really doesn’t seem to be that common anymore. Needless to say I’m not replying.

Went to Ikea today and bought a load of crap we don’t need and can’t afford. I might build it tomorrow. I need to call the insurer again since it’s almost a year since the accident and they still haven’t done fuck all. I think the last word from them was that they were awaiting a response from the third party. How long do they give them these days?? I still need to write to the independant financial ombudsman again.

On a plus note, I think my battles with 1&1 are finally over – my server package is now cancelled, and I even got a refund on the last quarter after I complained about their lack of response to my numerous emails. That’s £100 back in my bank account, thank-you-very-much!

More 1&1 and Night Out

Well, I moaned at 1&1 and they switched my server back on. The day after I also received a letter from the debt collector for non-payment for services provided. I emailed them pointing out 1&1′s incompetences, and copied 1&1′s billing dept. All next morning I got an email from both companies saying that my account with the debt collection agency is closed and no monies are owed. I hope I don’t have to go through this every quarter.

It was Kes’ birthday yesterday so we went out for many many beers starting at 4pm. Saw some guys out I’ve not seen in years. I enjoyed it – it was good. Mikey came with me too. We left about 11:45 and started walking for a taxi, but ended up spending out last tenner in an Indian. We started walking from Shipley into Bradford as we still hadn’t found a taxi, and I tried to get cash from the cash machine. It turns out that my bank are closed for maintenance until 8am Monday, so I’m pretty much screwed for cash! By this time we were in Bradford and it was 2am. So, like you do, I called my mum for a lift home. Thank God she answered – I didn’t fancy the 10 miles walk home, especially when we’d already walked 4 miles to get to Bradford in the first place.

Anyway, got home okay in the end. Feeling surprisingly fine considering the length of the drinking sesh, which is more than I can say for Kes who’s apparently feeling like death.

1&1 cut me off… again!

I paid them by funds transfer, and they disabled my account again. It’s like they’re trying really hard to lose me as a customer. So I told them. Meanwhile I’ll have no profile pic.

We went to Saffron Desi’s today after work. By far the best curries in Bradford, and with Bradford being curry capital of the world (more indian restaurants per square mile then anywhere else in the world, and home to the world’s largest Indian restaurant) that surely means they are the best curries known to man. I’d certainly agree with that anyway. Stunning.

Continuing Saga…

Okay, the latest update in “The Corporate World Hates Me,” 1&1, my server people, decided that my card declined without even trying payment. Four times. So on Saturday I wrote them a nasty email when they suspended my account and threatened me with the debt collector. I emailed them again this morning. The current situation is that they’re trying payment again in 2-3 days, and they’ve re-instated my account. Who knows if it’ll disappear again though!

Got a new K810i phone. It’s ver nice… and takes decent enough pics. I’ll post some soon. Took some on a night out in Leeds, but in my usual drunken state they’re not much cop. I can’t believe Orange stripped out the Blogger features though!!
